This document is not legal advice. It was written by the team that writes the product, from what the code actually does, and it must be reviewed by a lawyer before any payment is taken.

It is published anyway because a verified, provisional text is worth more than a contract template describing some other product.

Where payment actually stands, before anything else

Payments are being taken. The Pro plan is subscribed to from inside the application, on the Account page, Subscription section: the “Upgrade to Pro” button opens a payment page hosted by Stripe, and the subscription starts once the payment is confirmed. Payments, invoices and cancellation are handled by Stripe.

No card number passes through Jalon’s servers and none is stored here: the card is entered on Stripe’s site, never on this one. Of each subscribed organisation, Jalon keeps only its Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, its plan, the state of its subscription, the end of its current period, and the events received from Stripe — whose body is erased after thirty days and whose row is deleted after one year.

The Free plan limits described below are being enforced progressively: the forge connector is reserved for Pro and the application refuses to add one to a Free organisation; the other limits apply only after thirty days’ notice sent to the organisation, which then becomes read-only for as long as it exceeds them. And the review by a lawyer announced at the top of this page is still outstanding.

The two plans

Free

One organisation, three members, no forge connector. Everything else is there: roadmap, board, tree, Gantt, activity, tracking, snapshots, drift measurement and email reports.

Pro

€7 per member per month. Unlimited organisations and members, plus the forge connector, GitLab and GitHub alike, which brings issue linking and delivery metrics.

A member is an account counted in an organisation, whatever its role — viewers included.

04

Subscribing and billing

Subscription is agreed inside the application, and only an organisation’s owner can commit it to the expense. It starts once Stripe confirms the payment, then continues in monthly periods, tacitly renewed until cancelled. Invoices are issued by Stripe and can be consulted from its portal, which the “Manage my subscription” button opens.

The advertised price is €7 per member per month. The publisher currently benefits from the French VAT exemption for small businesses: “VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French general tax code”. No VAT is therefore charged, and the advertised price is the price paid.

05

Termination

Termination is requested from Stripe’s portal, which the “Manage my subscription” button on the Account page opens. It takes effect at the end of the current monthly period, which remains payable, and no minimum term is required.

Before leaving, the owner of an organisation can export its working data as JSON from the Organisation page: organisation, members, swimlanes, milestones, tasks, people records, the label catalogue and the board columns. Neither snapshots nor the organisation’s time zone are included. That is the safety net to use before any deletion, since deletion is immediate and final.

06

Withdrawal

Jalon is aimed at professional use. Since sales are now concluded through this site, whether consumer withdrawal rights apply, and the wording they would require, have not been settled: they fall under the legal review announced at the top of this page, which is still outstanding. In the meantime, the subscription can be cancelled at any time under the conditions described above.

07

Liability

The service is provided as is, with no committed service level. The publisher cannot be held liable for the consequences of an outage, for data loss following a deliberate deletion, nor for how an organisation uses the product.

The terms of use apply in full to any subscription.
