01Roadmap

Plan at a glance

Your milestones on a timeline, grouped by team or theme. Drag them with the mouse: the dates follow.

Getting started

  1. Create your first milestone: its lane is created at the same time.
  2. Set a start and an end, then drag the bar to adjust the dates.
  3. Add lanes (Product, Infra, Design…) to organise the plan.

What you get

  • One colour per status: in progress, done, upcoming, at risk.
  • Dates changed with one gesture, no form.
  • A ghost bar under each milestone shows where it was planned.
02Issue board

Organise the week’s work

Your tasks in columns, from “to do” to “done”. The team’s daily board.

Getting started

  1. Open a milestone and add its tasks.
  2. Define your columns in the organisation settings.
  3. Drag cards from one column to the next.

What you get

  • A flow that fits your team, with as many columns as you need.
  • The same order as on the roadmap.
  • The assignee and the tags visible on every card.
03Tree

Keep the big picture, down to the detail

Lanes, milestones, tasks and subtasks in a single tree, to unfold or fold.

Getting started

  1. Split a task into subtasks from its panel.
  2. Click an item to unfold or fold its content.

What you get

  • You see at once what depends on what.
  • Everything is sorted by date, to read the plan in order.
04Gantt

See the dependencies

Every task on the time axis: a bar when both dates are known, a diamond when there is only one.

Getting started

  1. Give your tasks dates: a start, an end, or just one of the two.
  2. Mark that one task must come before another.

What you get

  • An arrow links related tasks, and changes colour when the dates do not hold.
  • Tasks without a date stay visible, at the bottom of the list.
05Tracking

Measure delays, milestone by milestone

Progress, the team’s pace, what is blocked, and the comparison with your baseline plan.

Getting started

  1. Take a snapshot of your roadmap: the first one becomes your baseline.
  2. Select a milestone to see its progress and its projected end date.
  3. Change the baseline when the plan is renegotiated.

What you get

  • The exact gap between the original plan and today, for every milestone.
  • The list of what is blocked right now.
  • A reliable history: a snapshot is never edited afterwards.

What Jalon really measures

017 fields frozen per milestone

Frozen baseline plan

Name, lane id and lane name, status, start, end, progress: everything is recorded on the day of the snapshot and never moves again.

025 gaps per milestone

Gaps computed per milestone

Start, end, progress, status, lane. Every gap has a sign, to tell a delay from a lead.

0312 snapshots, 11 intervals

Trend over time

The trend is read over the last 12 snapshots, that is 11 intervals between them.

042 separate counters

Late and drifting kept apart

What is still late and what was delivered late are counted separately: they never cancel each other out.

Every figure in this section is checked by a test against the server code.

07Metrics

Measure your delivery with your real numbers

Connect GitLab or GitHub: the four DORA metrics, ticket flow and the delivery report, computed from your forge.

Getting started

  1. Connect your forge with a token, from the Organisation page.
  2. Choose the projects to follow and link their tickets to your tasks.
  3. The figures refresh with every collection.

What you get

  • Deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, time to restore service.
  • The cumulative ticket flow and the time spent at each stage.
  • What was planned, against what was shipped.
08Activity

Find out who did what

The team’s log: creations, completed tasks, state changes, assignments, in order.

Getting started

  1. No setup: the log starts with your organisation.
  2. Open the Activity screen: yesterday, then the current week.

What you get

  • A factual history, without interpretation.
  • Every screen says since when its data exists.
09Organisation

Set up your team in minutes

Members, roles, invitations, tags, time zone and workload, all in one place.

Getting started

  1. Invite your colleagues by email and give them a role.
  2. Choose the time zone for reports and create your tags.
  3. Customise the board columns and connect your forge.

What you get

  • Coloured tags, shared across every view.
  • Several organisations per account, with a selector that is always visible.
